Platform: Playstation 2, Playstation 3,
Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii
Released: November, 2007 (Playstation 3, Xbox 360)

After splitting from RedOctane and then being bought by MTV Music Games, Harmonix Music Systems finally comes out with their next rhythm based music game Rock Band. Taking inspirations from their smash hit, Guitar Hero and then adding Base Guitar, Drums and Vocal elements, Harmonix has taken the multiplayer experience to a whole new level.

Gamers are given a choice between 3 different gaming peripherals that are based on real musical instruments (a Guitar, Drums and a Microphone) to use in either single player or multiplayer mode. Up to 4 gamers can play at the same time, taking the role of Lead Guitarist, Base Guitarist, Drummer or Lead Singer in a virtual band playing for virtual fans across the world. Gamers have 58 songs that they can play through as well as a large selection that can be downloaded from the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 networks.

From its release, Rock Band has already sold over 3 million Bundle Packs and that number just continues to increase, and with a pending release to Nintendo’s Wii the numbers can only continue to go up.
