Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Patriots
Developers: Kojima Productions
Publishers: Konami
Platform: Playstation 3
Released: June, 2008

20 years after the release of the original Metal Gear for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Hideo Kojima has given the world his final installment of the epic Saga of Solid Snake. Set in the year 2014, (5 years after the Big Shell Incident in Metal Gear Solid 2) where war has become the pillar of the world’s economy, Solid Snake is sent on his Final Mission, to kill Liquid Ocelot. Keeping with the feel of its predecessor, MGS4 players must navigate Solid Snake through the world using stealth, cunning and combat skills.

The game can either be played through in the familiar 3rd person view or entirely in 1st person view, a first in the game’s history. Other elements of the game have also been revamped including guard interrogations and Snake’s CQC. The in game graphics are phenomenal, bringing the PS3’s full processing capabilities into clear view. Without a question it is one of the most visually and audibly stunning games out to date.

Upon its simultaneous world release, MGS4 has sold more than 1 million copies world wide, and the numbers are continually increasing. The MGS4 - Playstation 3 bundle has also caused the world sales of Playstation 3 to increase substantially, from around 10,000 units a week to over 70,000 units the initial week.
